In September 2020, Flare of Light (FoL) and the prosperous Boston (Massachusetts, USA) based Northeastern University (NU) established a partnership in light of the University’s Experiential Network (XN) experiential project initiative. Designed to be implemented on projects by small/medium sized organizations such as FoL, this initiative will be mutually beneficial.

The newborn partnership commands NU graduate master’s students to work on FoL projects and to provide their actions-oriented suggestions and recommendations within a timeframe of six to twelve weeks.

Amongst other organizations’ projects, the three following FoL projects have been selected in an attempt to support the XN initiative:
⦁ Non-Profit Branding Strategy Plan.
⦁ Marketing and Communication Strategy Plan.
⦁ Nonprofit Engagement Employee Strategy.

For the Third project, the students shall develop an in-depth Country Risk Assessment (CRA) focused on Burkina Faso; economic, cultural, legal, and other factors will be evaluated. The CRA shall be a critical component for a handoff to a course as a strategic management class.

This partnership creates a strategic bridge between the American and African continents, said Nesida Hakim Belembaogo, Founder and President of Flare of Light. Under the academic supervision of NU faculty and administrators, international and domestic students share their contribution fostering a call to action such as youth empowerment and leadership. This would not only benefit the students who are putting to practice the skills they have acquired at NU, but the sharing of experiences and good practices between American and African youth; already a great example of a Youth-to-Youth approach promoting entrepreneurship and technology, he underscored.
