On 2023 July 22nd, the Advisory Board (AB) of Flare of Light (F.O.L) held its 4th annual meeting. The team welcomed a new member, Dr Victor Prasad Karunan who brings a lot of expertise in research, training and programming in sociology, human right and youth  

Nesida Hakim Belembaogo, Founder, President and CEO of F.O.L highlighted the following:

‘’In addition to the report that shows progress on the ground despite the challenges met. I am pleased to share with you the highlights on the role played at global and country levels to position F.O.L. I learned how important is ‘’dreaming’’. F.O.L vision is guided by its work on the ground, relying on youth voice and looking for youth as leaders of society, having access to the right training to become actor and to be effective in the job market”  

The AB applauded the focus on responsibility to ensure youth are engaged and recognized with their rights and duties as well as on the holistic approach used. Mentorship and building capacity are critical to get impact. Thus, the importance to make high and accessible learning. The added -value of the project is to empower women and girls who are left behind. Attention is to be paid to leverage local practices and access to technology
